Ericsson’s Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies have the potential of revolutionizing the today’s telecom networks from deployment to operations resulting in significant CAPEX and OPEX reduction for fixed and mobile operators.
Ericsson’s NFV organization drives the transforming of the existing Ericsson Network Functions and Applications running on various Ericsson platforms into virtualized network applications integrated with the Cloud Management.
The NFV organization is also responsible for the virtualized traffic steering, service chaining functions among the virtualized network applications.
Responsibilities for the Position
As a Software Developer you will be responsible for: requirement analysis, designing, development, integration, verification, configuration management, PLM support, product documentation in the areas of NFV, Cloud infrastructure, Virtualization and related technologies.
5+ years experience of software development in data networking industry
Strong C programming and OS concepts
Experience with Linux Kernel architecture and programming
Hands on experience in Linux and Virtualization environments (KVM, Xen, OpenStack, DPDK, VMware ESXi)
Worked on embedded systems/routers (edge/core).
Solid understanding of Networking/Forwarding protocols, including L2/L3 processing.
Control /Data plane pkt processing
Device drivers (Smart NIC if possible)
Good knowledge on platform virtualization. Good hold on concepts like Hypervisor, VMs, Virtio, Intel VT-X, SR-IOV, PF-Passthru.
In depth data networking knowledge –i.e. IPv4 / IPv6, TCP, UDP, Ethernet, MPLS
If possible experience with scripting languages desirable (Perl/ Python/ Bash)
Solid work ethic, customer focus, team player, with passion for delivering world class solutions
